In addition to financial planning, and investing for retirement and college, Val also offers health, life, long-term care and Medicare insurance. She was a business owner for over 23 years in Bardstown and was employed by the Bardstown City School System for six years. Val is an active community volunteer and has served on a number of boards and committees, including St. Thomas Parish Finance Committee, Elizabethtown Community & Technical College, Rotary Club, Nelson County Library Board, Bardstown Foundation for Excellence in Education, Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Council to the Chamber and Bardstown-Nelson County Leadership Class of 1997. Val and her husband, Joey live in Bardstown. They have three children, Lance and Laura Beth Blanford and Madison Downs.
